2011年3月，富山大学工学部知能情報工学科卒業．2013年3月，富山大学大学院理工学教育部修士課程知能情報工学専攻修了．2017年3月，名古屋大学大学院情報科学研究科情報システム学専攻博士課程後期課程修了．博士（情報科学）．千葉大学フロンティア医工学センター特別研究員（2017年4月～2018年3月，医用画像工学に関する教育・研究に従事．），名古屋大学未来社会創造機構交通・情報システム研究部門技術補佐員（2018年4月～2019年3月，モビリティ社会の次世代交通情報システムに関する研究補助に従事．），東京理科大学理工学部情報科学科助教（2019年4月～2021年7月，計算機科学（ソフトウェア工学，コンピュータグラフィックス，形式手法）に関する教育・研究に従事．），名古屋大学医学部附属病院メディカルITセンター技術補佐員（2021年8月～9月，スマートホスピタルにおける医療情報システムに関する研究補助に従事．），北海道大学数理・データサイエンス教育研究センター特任助教（2021年10月～2022年3月，データ関連人材育成プログラム (Doctoral program for Data-Related InnoVation Expert (D-DRIVE))，社会に求められる数理・データサイエンスに関するスキルセットの整理とインフラの調査・開発・整備・運営，コンピュータイメージング分野の数理・データサイエンスに関する教育・研究に従事．），コンピュータイメージングラボ代表（2022年4月～2023年3月，数理・データサイエンスに立脚した画像情報処理に関する研究に従事．），金沢学院大学経済情報学部経済情報学科准教授（2023年4月～現在，経済情報学に立脚したマルチメディア信号処理に関する教育・研究に従事．）を経て，2024年4月から，金沢学院大学情報工学部情報工学科准教授．コンピュータ工学（信号処理工学）に関する教育・研究に従事．現在に至る．現在までに，多視点3D画像の符号化画質評価，画像・信号処理，カラー画像処理，医用画像工学，質感情報学に関する研究に従事．2015年6月，平成26年度電子情報通信学会東海支部学生研究奨励賞（博士）を受賞．2016年7月，映像情報メディア学会国際会議学生発表援助 (ITC-CSCC2016)に採択，2016年9月，第15回情報科学技術フォーラム (FIT2016) FIT奨励賞を受賞，2017年12月，電気通信普及財団海外渡航旅費援助 (IWAIT2018)に採択．2018年2月，Certificate of Appreciation for serving as a reviewer for Journal of Electronic Imaging during the calendar year of 2017, 2018年4月，Certificate of Outstanding Contribution in Reviewing of Elsevier Signal Processing, 2019年2月，Certificate of Appreciation for serving as a reviewer for Journal of Electronic Imaging during the calendar year of 2018を授与．映像情報メディア学会，電子情報通信学会，IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS), Computer Society (CS), Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society (EMBS), 画像電子学会，情報処理学会，日本医用画像工学会，日本コンピュータ外科学会，国際光工学会，日本医療情報学会，IS&T各会員．

Norifumi KAWABATA received the B.E., M.E. degrees in the Intellectual Information Engineering from University of Toyama, Japan, in 2011, and 2013, respectively. Since 2013, he entranced into Ph.D. course in the Information Platform Group, Department of Information Engineering, Graduate School of Information Science in Nagoya University. He received the Ph.D. of Information Science from Nagoya University, Japan, in March 2017, respectively. Since April 2017 to March 2018, he was studying on Medical Engineering (for Medical Image Analysis) as a Research Fellow, Center for Frontier Medical Engineering (CFME), Chiba University. Since April 2018 to March 2019, he was studying and supporting on Transportation and Information System as an Assistant Technical Staff, the Institutes of Innovation for Future Society, Nagoya University. Since April 2019 to July 2021, he was joining as an Assistant Professor (for Computer Science such as Software Engineering, Computer Graphics, and Formal Method) in the Department of Information Sciences, Tokyo University of Science. Since August 2021 to September 2021, he was joining in the Medical IT Center, Nagoya University Hospital as an Assistant Technical Staff (for Medical Information System on Smart Hospital). Since October 2021 to March 2022, he was joining to the Education and Research Center for Mathematical and Data Science, Hokkaido University as a Specially Appointed Assistant Professor (for Education and Research on Doctoral program for Data-Related InnoVation Expert (D-DRIVE), Skill Set of Mathematical and Data Science, and Mathematical and Data Science of Computational Imaging Field). Since April 2022 to March 2023, he was joining in the Computational Imaging Lab as a Principal Investigator (for study on imaging and computer science). Since April 2023 to present, he is joining to the Department of Economic Informatics, Faculty of Economic Informatics in Kanazawa Gakuin University as an Associate Professor (for the education and research on multimedia signal processing towards economic informatics). Since April 2024 to present, he is joining to the Department of Information Engineering, Faculty of Information Engineering in Kanazawa Gakuin University as an Associate Professor (for the education and research on computer engineering (signal processing)). He got a prize of “IEICE Tokai Section Student Award 2014 (Doctor)” in June 2015. He has been selected “ITE International Conference Student Support Grant” for ITC-CSCC 2016 in July 2016. He also got a prize of “Forum on Information Technology Encouragement Award 2016” in September 2016. He has been selected “Traveling abroad Travel Expenses Assistance in the Telecommunications Advancement Foundation” in December 2017. He got a Certificate of Appreciation for serving as a reviewer for Journal of Electronic Imaging during the calendar year of 2017 and 2018 in February 2018 and February 2019, and then, he also got a Certificate of Outstanding Contribution in Reviewing of Elsevier Signal Processing in April 2018. His main research interests are the multi-view 3D image media quality, 3DCG, visible digital watermarking, color image processing, human interface interaction, and medical engineering (Computer-Aided Diagnosis).
